Webinar
FCA Payments Strategy & Consumer Duty
10 July 2025 02:00 PM Europe/London

We are holding a webinar on Thursday, 10 July 2025 from 2pm to 3.30pm to help firms understand our strategy for firms in our payments portfolio and the embedding of the Consumer Duty by those firms.
In October last year, we published our key findings from our review of payments firms’ implementation of the Consumer Duty. Subsequently, in February we published our payments portfolio strategy 'Dear CEO' letter, setting out our key priorities and outcomes for the portfolio, what we expect from firms, and what we intend to do to support each outcome.
This webinar will help you better understand the strategy, including how it links to the National Payments Vision, which sets out the Government’s ambition for a trusted, world-leading payments ecosystem, and highlights the importance of payments to the UK economy, including as a source of growth.
It will also discuss our views on the embedding of the Consumer Duty in the portfolio, share examples of good practice, and the importance of driving good outcomes for consumers.
The webinar will be of interest to payment service providers, e-money issuers, money remitters, merchant acquirers, and open banking firms and will also provide an opportunity to ask questions.
Speakers:
Matthew Long, Director of Payments and Digital Assets
Chris McGrath, Head of Market Interventions Payments
Hermione Taylor, Head of the Cross-Cutting Market Analysis and Strategy Department
James Eldridge, Manager of the Payments Sector Team
